Ba Vi National Park

Ba Vi National Park was established under Decision No. 17-CT dated January 16, 1991 of the Chairman of the Council of Ministers (now the Government). Currently, the Park has a total area of nearly 9,702.41 hectares, belonging to the administrative boundaries of 15 communes and 5 districts: Ba Vi, Thach That, Quoc Oai of Hanoi City, Luong Son, Hoa Binh city of Hoa Binh province.

Ba Vi Mountain has 3 peaks: King Peak with an altitude of 1.296m, Tan Vien Peak with an altitude of 1,227m and Ngoc Hoa Peak with an altitude of 1,131m. According to the most recent survey, the flora and fauna of Ba Vi National Park is very rich and diverse with 2,181 species of trees, 503 species of medicinal plants, 65 species of animals, 194 species of birds, 61 species of reptiles, 27 species of hermits and 552 species of insects. The Ba Vi mountain range is called “the lord of mountains” in the Vietnamese folk religion although it is not the highest mountain range in Vietnam. There are many peaks in this range, but the most famous one is Tan Vien Peak . Tan Vien mountain is 1,281m high.With unique terrain, there are many species of  birds that live here. The high elevation, special climate with cool temperatures has create a wonderful ecosystem for animals, including many species of birds. Ba Vi National Park has recorded 169 bird species including:
